While Executive Chef Domenic Laurenzo and father Roland Laurenzo where working on their newest restaurant in SW Houston, they secretly working on building an El Tiempo Cantina at a very special location. The location is where Rolands mother, Ninfa, opened her original restaurant years ago, giving the location special meaning for the family.
Domenic Laurenzo has created an ambiance that provides perfection in dining comfort and artistry. This is shown with hand painted portraits of his family placed all around the restaurant, a beautiful spiral staircase and hand crafted stars that hang from the ceiling.
The interior is designed and handcrafted by the vision of Domenic Laurenzo, as he also was the General Contractor of this and every location he opens. The menu was ambitious offering as much as he could handle in hopes Houstonians will be reminded of his Families Legacy.
This is the first El Tiempo Cantina with 2 patio areas that are not covered and always enjoyed when the Houston weather allows. It is also the one location that has photography from family trips to Mexico allowing for a more Mexican/Tex-Mex feel.
The El Tiempo Cantina at 5602 Washington Ave. opened in 2004 with hopes to create a buzz around town that El Tiempo Cantina has the best fajitas and margaritas in Houston. This location has become a very popular spot with the residence in the Washington Corridor.
